Please flair!!! After all of this I will eventually upgrade to an automatic machine or a la pavoni lever machine. I think it would be so amazing if someone designed a scale that sits below the drip tray so you never needed to remove the scale. I really wish they would do this or make their own scale that works with it. All they would have to do is widen the base and sell it as an aftermarket upgrade. I have to ask why flair hasnt designed a new base that can accommodate a lunar scale. I want to design a wood base out of a thick cutting board so that the drip tray is much larger and the scale can sit below the base all together. If I'm entirely honest I have been pissed about the drip tray/base all together. Has anybody had this problem with the Flair and the Lunar. But then if I wanted to get the dual spout adapter I wouldn't be able to use the scale. I'm now thinking about picking up a cheap scale for pour over and the acai pyxis. I really wanted this scale to be my end game for espresso and pour over. There are not many scales compatible with the flair. This has me very frustrated and I can't entirely blame Acaia because I don't think the problem is the scale. Here are some pictures and videos so you can see what I'm talking about. Basically I have to be super careful when placing the scale otherwise it will start reading weight as if something is being placed on it. This is so frustrating because I'm using my scale for dosing and pulling the shot so it moves from spot to spot. What is even weirder is you can hit the tare button as many times as you want and it will still read as if weight is present. This issue is even worse if you remove th drip tray as now the scale sits lower in the base and cannot be pushed as far back. The problem I'm having is that when you push the scale on the drip tray as far back as it can go to capture the shot it bumps into the sides of the base and cause the scale to go off and start autotareing and will start the timer of whichever mode is selected. On the other hand I'm having problems that I think reveal a bigger issue with the flair all together. I've only had it for a week and probably pulled half a bags worth of shots and made 3 pour overs with it. I decided to just take a dive and buy the Lunar and see what all the fuss is about. Also my table is wood and I don't want the table wearing out. I simply cannot be bothered with that in-between shots. When I removed the drip tray now I needed to clean my table all too frequently or grab a catch cup. The problem I was having is that scale hangs off of the drip tray. The scale I was using was just a cheap $12 scale that everybody recommended here. And not holding my scale while I press the tare and timer buttons seemed like a good trade off. After dealing with the fussiness, I figured if I could get a scale that could autotare then all I would have to do it place my cup on the scale and concentrate on pulling the shot. I was having too many problems and issue with my last scale not tareing and taking too long to make work while my water just sat in the brew chamber waiting to pull my shot. I'm curious to hear if anybody else here has experience with it and the flair. I recently bought the overpriced scale that virtually every internet barista says is the bees knees.
